Windows
Desktop Search Plugin:
For any computer running
Vista, or any computer running Windows XP with Windows Desktop Search 3.01 or
later installed, this is one powerful plugin.
It basically provides the WDS results as a sub index for a text item in
DOMercury. Start typing a keyword to
search, select the text item (the bottom item in the suggestions) or use
DOMercury 2.6’s “Force to Text” keystroke of Ctrl+T and dive into the WDS
results with the right arrow. You can
then perform DOMercury actions on any of these items that were returned.
You really need to see the video to see
how powerful this is.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later, 2.6 for easiest use (Ctrl+T
force to text keystroke)
Inclusions: Must be
downloaded and installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later,XP with Windows Desktop
Search installed, or Vista. If you
run Vista, you already have Windows Desktop Search built in.
Installation: Drop the WDSPlugin.dll file into the DOMercury Plugins
folder. Drop the
Microsoft.Search.Interop.dll file into the DOMercury main folder.

Clipboard
Plugin BETA:
The Clipboard Plugin revolutionizes the way you handle text on your clipboard. It keeps track of all text you
copy and paste since starting DOMercury.
You can go to the Clipboard Item in the main index, and dive into the sub
index to see your clipboard history.
You can also select a previous clip and make it the current clip on the
clipboard. Great for when you have
to manage many snippets of text.
You can also copy the path of a file or folder that is selected to the
clipboard.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later
Inclusions: Must be
downloaded and installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later,
Installation:
Drop the dll file into the DOMercury Plugins folder. If one does not already exist, then
drop the paperclip.png into the Icons folder.
NOTE ABOUT BETA: The Clipboard
Plugin is currently in Beta at the moment, because while it runs fine in Windows
Vista, it has been reported to present some issues in XP, such as causing
DOMercury to use more than normal system
memory or causing DOMercury to stop running if it has been running continuously
for a day or so. I have included the
source for other developers to review and tweak.
The issues have only so far appeared in XP 64 bit. My guesses would be the way
the operating systems differ in handling multithreading or the underlying API
calls.

Jot Plugin:
Creator: Ross
The Jot plugin provides simple, persistent text storage. Think of it like a
clipboard manager, but different. The idea was completely and utterly stolen
from SlickRun (an awesome app in its own right) by Bayden Systems.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later
Inclusions: Must be downloaded and
installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later
Installation: Copy JotPlugin.dll into your
DOMercury\Plugins folder. If DOMercury isn't running, start it. If it is already
running, invoke DOMercury's Options form, click on the Plugins tab, then click
the Reload Plugins button. A Jot entry should appear in both the Item Providers
list and the Action Providers list.
Usage: Invoke DOMercury, then type "jot" (without quotes). The correct
item is named simply "jot" with a description of "The Jot Text Field". The only
action available is "Show", so confirm that. The Jot window should pop up
shortly. Type/paste any text you want into the text field. If you want the Jot
window to stay on top of all other windows, check the "Always on top" box. To
dismiss the Jot window, either press the Escape key or click the X at the
top-right corner of the window. The entered text will be saved, as will the
location, size, and top-most-status.
Options:
The Jot Plugin provides an Options interface. Within this dialog (launched just
as any other plugin's Options dialog), you may set the font, the foreground
color, and the background color used in the Jot text area

ProcessManager Plugin:

and gives you the option to kill any process found. More functionality
will be added later, but currently you can only kill processes.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later
Inclusions: Must be downloaded and
installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later
Installation: Copy ProcessManager.dll into
your DOMercury\Plugins folder. If DOMercury isn't running, start it. If it is
already running, invoke DOMercury's Options form, click on the Plugins tab, then
click the Reload Plugins button. A Process Manager entry should appear in the
Item Providers list, the Action Providers list, and the Sub Index Providers
list.
Usage: Invoke DOMercury, then type "Process Manager". The Process Manager
item should filter to the top. Press the Right Arrow key on your keyboard to
access the process list sub-index. From here, you may filter to only the
processes you wish to see. The only action provided is Kill. You will be asked
to confirm your wish to kill the specified process.

Just Go Away Plugin:
Creator: Ross
For when you want a window to "just go away", kill its process with this handy
shortcut. This plugin provides a new action for all System Window objects that
will find a window's parent process and kill it. Very handy for often hung
applications such as Internet Explorer 7.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later
Inclusions: Must be downloaded and
installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later
Installation: Copy JustGoAway.dll into
your DOMercury\Plugins folder. If DOMercury isn't running, start it. If it is
already running, invoke DOMercury's Options form, click on the Plugins tab, then
click the Reload Plugins button. The Just Go Away action should appear in the
Action Providers list.
Usage: Invoke DOMercury, then filter down to an object with the System
Window type, such as "Notepad" if the Notepad application is running. Tab over
to the list of actions and select "Just Go Away!". A confirmation dialog will
pop up, with the "Yes" button defaulted. ("No" is also an option if you pick the
wrong window.) Once you hit Enter (or click Yes), the process is killed.

iTunes
Plugin BETA:
People have been asking for it for a long time, and now the iTunes Plugin is
here! You can use the “iTunes
Controller” item to play/pause or jump tracks and previous tracks in iTunes
without moving from your current program to the iTunes program to do it. You can also dive into your Albums,
Artists, & tracks, and play those specific albums or tracks.
Required Version: DOMercury 2.3 or later
Inclusions: Must be downloaded and
installed.
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later, iTunes installed
Installation: Drop the iTunesPlugin.dll file into the DOMercury Plugins folder. Put the Interop.iTunes.dll file into
the DOMercury main folder.
NOTE ABOUT BETA: The iTunes Plugin
is Beta, because while I have gotten it to work all find and dandy on my Vista
machine, it has not been tested by me on Windows XP, nor on an iTunes library
with extremely large amounts of Artists, Albums, and tracks. Album Arts also only seems to work
when it feels like it. It also starts
iTunes when DOMercury starts. I have
provided the source for developers to review and tweak to their heart’s content. If you fix a bug though, please
submit the modified source back to me.

FolderIndexor Plugin:
The last
Plugin created for Version 1.x, the FolderIndexor Plugin allows you to add the
contents of any folder, and/or the folder itself, to the DOMercury Index. This
is especially useful if you are running DOMercury on a thumbdrive and want to
index files on that drive. You can even put filters on which files get indexed,
so you can allow a folder to only index playlists contained in the folder and
subfolders, or only files that start with the letter "t". These options are
accessed by going to the options form, Plugins tab, double clicking on the
FolderIndexor Plugin, then clicking show options.
Once you have set up your folders click OK, then click ReloadPlugins to refresh
the index with your newly indexed files.
Inclusions: included in DOMercury
1.2.1 and later.
Required Version: DOMercury 1.2.1 or
later
Other Requirements: .NET Framework 2.0 or later
