DOMercury Skins
Not everybody likes the same look of things.  Some people like things flashy, some like things simple, and some like thing to match certain themes.  Because of this I created a Skinning interface for DOMercury, and it now comes shipped with a select number of skins.

I have also been sent some remade icons.  Wasn't sure where on the site they should go, but seeing as how icons are a visual thing, I decided to put them here as well.

Skins Gallery:

Below is a list of skins for use with DOMercury.  If you make your own skin, and it is so awesome that it is better than any of these skins (which shouldn't be too hard, I'm an engineer, not a graphic artist)  I'll post it here, give you props for your talented creativity, and include it as part of the standard package for future releases.

NEW!! MiniShine: by tysiva

This skin, created and sent to me by tysiva. It's kind of like Minimalist but it looks a hell of alot cooler. (You guys really do a better job at these skins than me, where do you get these artistic skills?) I modified it a little bit to add an action icon and make the list box colors easier to read, but credit for the MiniShine design and theme definitely go to tysiva. Good job. The main font for this skin is Segoe UI, which is a Vista font. So if you are on XP and do not have this font, you can get it here: .Since this skin was not available until after the 2.7 release, it is available for download here.

NEW!! Metallic: by Dave

This skin, created and sent to me by Dave Watkin, is inspired from the QBSkin; however, Dave has much more graphic talent than I do and it resulted in a real cool looking skin that is cleaner as easier to look at than QBSkin. This is the skin I am using currently (other than LCARS on my Trek Themified PC). Since this skin was not available until after the 2.7 release, it is available for download here.
Great job Dave!

Default:

This was the first skin I created for the skinnable version of DOMercury.  I have caught a lot (and I mean ALOT) of flack for it being "butt ugly".  However, I have in fact found some people who actually like it, so I have left it included (it is however no longer the default.)

QSkin:

QSkin as been around a little longer than the most of the other skins.  It is of course made to immitate the Quicksilver Primer Interface.  It has been considered by many as "less butt ugly" that the Default Skin, so it is currently the "default" skin upon install of DOMercury.

QBSkin:

Another "Quicksilver Lookalike", the QBSkin is the immitation of the Bezel Interface.  Having never used Quicksilver, and really only seen it in action on Youtube videos, I probably didn't get an exact mimic.  Sorry about that, if you don't like it you can always edit the skin and submit it to me as an improvement.

Minimalist:

When you invoke DOMercury in Minimalist: you just see a console bar

Minimalist is nothing flashy.  It was designed specifically to be that way.  Its kind of like a floating command prompt of sorts, however it has all the functionality that DOMercury has to offer.  It was designed to be unobtrusive and out of the way.  Its one of my favorite skins at the moment.

When you start typing, the multiple options appear as normal.

LCARS:

Ive always been a Star Trek nerd, and for that reason I HAD to make this skin.  I've always thought that sound effects would be rather unnecessary for DOMercury, however this skin has made me tempted to implement them.

Skinning DOMercury:
Don't like any of the Skins above?  No problem, you can create your own.  A skin is basically a background image and a text file defining where to place the controls over it and how to display them.  DOMercury can handle the standard file formats: jpeg, gif, bmp, png.  However, if you don't want it to look like a square I would suggest using png or gif file formats.  I make all of my skin images in Paint.Net, there is a link of the Links & Related Materials section.

Icons Gallery:

Below are some remade Google Icons sent to me by Dave, the same guy who did the Metallic skin. To use them, just drop them into the Icons folder and overwrite the icons that are currently there.Google IconGMail IconGoogle Images IconGoogle Maps IconGoogle Products IconGoogle Video Icon
